Sorry, sometimes that is the hardest thing about posting!
It was a fairly busy day with a fair amount of customers. I love it when new people come to the garden. They are always so surprised by everything and really enjoy learning how to pick their own vegetables.
I'm so happy to see the Pyrethrum blooming in my perennial border!
It's one of my favorite flowers, but in the past the slugs always ate it before it could bloom. Now that the ducks have the slugs under control I can grow it again!
The wild geranium is blooming too. The slugs never bothered it in the past although they did love to live in its foliage!
Other than taking the dog to the vet, the fact that it didn't rain and the fact that the cat came outside on his own with no prodding, nothing extraordinary happened today. Another good day!
THE U-Pick GARDEN will be closing August 20th. This will be the last year the garden will be open to the public. Next year I'll be operating as a CSA, supplying about 20 regular customers with weekly boxes. Thank you for your support over the last 8 years, but it's time to try something new.
To get a copy of my book, "How To Grow Vegetables In Sitka, Alaska" just give me a call....The books are $20 plus tax. If you live out of town and want me to mail you a copy, you can mail a check for $25.60 to:
