First Day Of Summer

It rained this morning, but this afternoon was wonderful!

I worked on the lettuce/spinach bed today to get it ready for the second planting.

The seedlings are up, but I will wait to transplant them until they have a few true leaves.

I think I am a bit late with the second planting.  Next year I plan to seed the second planting around May 21 so I will be able to keep up with the demand better.  Customers have been picking lots of spinach!

The pink primroses are in full bloom right now.  This particular variety self seeds readily and can be found all over the garden.

Today was a good day....and look at the forecast for tomorrow! (notice the exclamation point)

  1. SO jealous of the lettuce and spinach! Mine has mostly fed the slugs so far. And I have that same primrose....must be the one I bought from you a few years ago at the Farmer's Market....now if it would just successfully seed some more, I would have a beautiful patch of primroses. Thanks for the great bag of salad fixings tonight!
