It is great to be home! I don't have much time to garden yet because we have to unload the boat now. We lease the boat out in the summer and so we need to get ALL of our stuff off so that they can move ALL of their stuff on.
I did get the chance to look around though and things are looking good! The spinach is gorgeous!
In Sitka the leaves don't get bitter even when the leaves are HUGE!
Look at the lettuce...
I uncovered the peas...
...and I noticed that some of the Morning Glory seeds actually germinated!! I am so excited to see if they do well outside here in Sitka.
Unloading the boat will take 2 days and then I'll be free!!!
THE U-Pick GARDEN will be closing August 20th. This will be the last year the garden will be open to the public. Next year I'll be operating as a CSA, supplying about 20 regular customers with weekly boxes. Thank you for your support over the last 8 years, but it's time to try something new.
To get a copy of my book, "How To Grow Vegetables In Sitka, Alaska" just give me a call....The books are $20 plus tax. If you live out of town and want me to mail you a copy, you can mail a check for $25.60 to:
