THE U-Pick GARDEN will be closing August 20th. This will be the last year the garden will be open to the public. Next year I'll be operating as a CSA, supplying about 20 regular customers with weekly boxes. Thank you for your support over the last 8 years, but it's time to try something new.

Down To Earth U-Pick Garden is located at 2103 Sawmill Creek Road in Sitka, Alaska. It is open usually from mid-June through late August. Hours are Monday-Saturday 12:00 to 6:30. On Farmer's Market Saturdays I am not open until 2:00. Children are welcome but may not run through the garden or chase the ducks. Mother's Day

Congratulations, condolences, and thank yous to all you mothers out there. Hope it's an easy day for you. I cleaned and reinstalled the bathroom fan for mum today. It wasn't easy, especially considering the fact that I was trying to put it in upside-down... But although my face may have looked like this at times:


And I may or may not have resorted to using a hammer.... With an ounce of common sense from Camy Hyde, and more than a few ounces of Sheetrock in my unfortunate eyeballs, I managed it.


There is, of course, a cover over it as well. Oh, and by the way, the clouds broke and the sun finally came out today! Check out that sky... It's still being a little bi-polar, but we have hopes...


And I hauled next week's wood.


Now I gotta go do some math....

    HaHaHa! Love the comment about the sky being bipolar! That SOOO describes the weather in Sitka at times.
