Well, another successful bear hunt completed and now I'm back home and it's my birthday!! We had to drive the boat all night so I am operating on about 3 hours of sleep feeling very groggy.
God has blessed me with such great family and friends! Evonne Beiler arrived last night. She is going to cook on the next trip and I am going to stay home to tend to the garden and Levi. Everyone says we look like sisters!
It was a long day of boat work, but we came home to a stellar dinner that Connie made for us! Lasagna...
...and pineapple upside down cake....
Both recipes are from The Pioneer Woman's cookbook.
Every recipe in this cook book is excellent!
It was a great day.
THE U-Pick GARDEN will be closing August 20th. This will be the last year the garden will be open to the public. Next year I'll be operating as a CSA, supplying about 20 regular customers with weekly boxes. Thank you for your support over the last 8 years, but it's time to try something new.
To get a copy of my book, "How To Grow Vegetables In Sitka, Alaska" just give me a call....The books are $20 plus tax. If you live out of town and want me to mail you a copy, you can mail a check for $25.60 to:
