Today has been really lazy. It's probably the weather... The rain hasn't stopped all day. Needless to say, Connie won't be watering the garden anytime soon. Ben and Emily came in on the plane last night at 11:00, and I went to pick them up. Unfortunately I forgot to take the camera with me, but Connie got a picture over breakfast this morning.
She had gathered some flowers from the garden and put them in the Emily cup, to welcome her on her first trip to Alaska.
It's great to have them here. We all hope the weather lets up so Emily can get a taste for the nice side of Sitka, and won't leave with the impression that we live in constant precipitation.
THE U-Pick GARDEN will be closing August 20th. This will be the last year the garden will be open to the public. Next year I'll be operating as a CSA, supplying about 20 regular customers with weekly boxes. Thank you for your support over the last 8 years, but it's time to try something new.
To get a copy of my book, "How To Grow Vegetables In Sitka, Alaska" just give me a call....The books are $20 plus tax. If you live out of town and want me to mail you a copy, you can mail a check for $25.60 to:
