That's right, it rained again today. Oh well. Don't really care anymore. Whatever. But check it out -
Duck Pond...
Duck Lake.
There's a seriously sizable lake down there. I think they're really loving it. That might explain why they laid 11 eggs today... Finally, they're earning their keep again.
Brother Ben has been doing his best to show off Alaska to Emily, but the weather is making it hard for him. Consequently they've spent some time cooped up, as there are some pictures on the camera which neither me nor Connie took...
Ben has a knack for photography. He has some pretty good pictures. Anyway, it's good to know they're having a good time. They'll take off pretty soon in the skiff to meet up with the folks before this trip is over. If I can, I'll try and get some pictures of them leaving or some such. Stay tuned...
THE U-Pick GARDEN will be closing August 20th. This will be the last year the garden will be open to the public. Next year I'll be operating as a CSA, supplying about 20 regular customers with weekly boxes. Thank you for your support over the last 8 years, but it's time to try something new.
To get a copy of my book, "How To Grow Vegetables In Sitka, Alaska" just give me a call....The books are $20 plus tax. If you live out of town and want me to mail you a copy, you can mail a check for $25.60 to:
