Day One

What a great day!!!! I LOVE my new truck!!!

It drives like a dream and it looks so cool....

And Mr. Adams likes it too!

Here are Jesse and Glenda, the folks who sold it to us.

By late afternoon we were ready to hit the road...

We were confident and excited and ready to start our adventure....

I took the wheel first. I have to admit that I was a little bit nervous.....I don't know why, I was just worried that I would crack it up on the first day I guess.

Well, everything went great for about 28 miles.....

....and then......the engine overheaded! Oh dear.

Good thing I brought my lawn chair....

An interesting thing happens when you break down in a vintage truck.....people start coming out of the woodwork wanting to help. They just can't resist the opportunity to stand around talking about old cars, scratching their heads while they're trying to figure out what's wrong with yours.

Jesse drove out to help us too...

It turns out that the fan had stopped working, so we hot wired it, and once again we were on our way!

I let Mr. Adams take a turn at the wheel this time.

And he took us all the way to our first destination.....Gatlinburg, Tennessee!
