Day 6

Today it was HOT!!!!

We started out the day with a little shopping. I was looking for a hat.....

Oh, check out the T-shirt I'm wearing.....Carolyn bought it for me to commemorate our trip.

Appropriate, don't you think?

Today's road adventure started out with driving a bit of the Famous "Route 66".

By the time we hit the open road it was really starting to heat up....

Water became very important for both of us....

We have no air conditioner, so ALL of the windows and vents were open, and the wind was so hot!

And the truck was hot too. The engine overheated a bit if we drove over about 50 mph, so we had to take it a bit easy. Once the temperature outside got down to about 93 degrees in the evening the radiator was able to keep up and we were able to speed up and make better time. Thankfully, tomorrow's weather is supposed to be cooler.

Goodnight from the Oklahoma panhandle!
