Today was sunny so I was pretty busy working outside all day. Nothing really exciting, but a good day.
I started out by picking enough raspberries and huckleberries to finish out the last batch of jam of the season...the raspberries and huckleberries were good to me this year.
The ducks are in the garden now....they make good company for me while I pull weeds. I found some volunteer potatoes hiding in the weeds. They aren't very big but they are SO delicious!
The ground is really saturated with water right now because we have had some tremendous rainfall the last week. But today was gorgeous!
Here is a basket I made last weekend.
Just a couple more basket orders to fill this week and then it's over until next year!
THE U-Pick GARDEN will be closing August 20th. This will be the last year the garden will be open to the public. Next year I'll be operating as a CSA, supplying about 20 regular customers with weekly boxes. Thank you for your support over the last 8 years, but it's time to try something new.
To get a copy of my book, "How To Grow Vegetables In Sitka, Alaska" just give me a call....The books are $20 plus tax. If you live out of town and want me to mail you a copy, you can mail a check for $25.60 to:
