Knitting Day!!!!

On Friday's I have a standing date to meet my friend, Molly Kitka, down at the knit shop...

I haven't been able to go for months because of the garden and bear hunting so today was my first day back.  Here is the shop owner, Laura Ramp...

We stay for a few hours and sit around the table knitting and crocheting and visiting...

Today was a rainy, stormy, grey day and the knit shop was the perfect place to hang out!  We usually take our lunch and while I was eating mine Molly took this photo with my camera and said I HAD to post it...

Lovely.

Here are some photos from inside the shop...so many inspiring ideas and absolutely delicious yarn!

Look at these ridiculously darling felted Matryoshka dolls!!!!

And a felted sheep...

Oh, Noro...how I love thee...

Get out!!!  Look at these fabulous mittens!!  They had a knitted lining too....

This amazing hat is made from quiviut yarn (musk ox).  The yarn in super light and soft like angora.  But it is also very expensive.

Oh, and look!  My book, with a couple of sample hats...

I love this curly sheep!  It makes me laugh every time I see it!

 Sweet, sweet baby shoes....

I just love Laura's knit shop...it has a homey, cozy atmosphere, everyone is happy to be there, and I get inspired every time I go.

And here is a photo of my car when it was time to go...

I had parked under an Elderberry tree and the wind blew all the leaves my way and they stuck to the wet car.  It looked like a chia pet driving down the road!  I thought if I drove fast enough on my way home that the leaves would all blow off, but.....Sitka's not a big enough town to drive fast enough to blow them off...I had to hose them all off when I got home.
