Garlic Planting Day!!!

The weather broke today and it turned out to be an extremely nice day!  Such a treat to get some sun.... just like medicine for the soul.  After church I headed outdoors to enjoy the weather and decided to plant my garlic.  As with any planting project, prepping the bed takes the longest.  It's a job that calls for "The Beast"!

Going down hill is the easy part...

Okay, now turn around and head back up the hill....

Even though this rototiller is self propelled you still have to push it up the hill or it just digs a hole into the loose soil...

Whew!!! I reached the top!

Now, to get it turned and headed for the shed....It looks bigger than I am!

Dirt, sea shell sand, seaweed, beach mulch, compost..........It's a beautiful thing.

Garlic planting time!!!!

This is some of the cloves from garlic I have been growing in my garden for about 4 years.  Look at how big the cloves are getting!!!!!!  It's not elephant garlic or shallots...I swear!  It's real, pungent, delicious garlic!

Every year the cloves get bigger.  Believe it or not this really is just ONE clove...

There's just nothing like growing your own garlic.........

............I'm going to need more property.............
