THE U-Pick GARDEN will be closing August 20th. This will be the last year the garden will be open to the public. Next year I'll be operating as a CSA, supplying about 20 regular customers with weekly boxes. Thank you for your support over the last 8 years, but it's time to try something new.

To get a copy of my book, "How To Grow Vegetables In Sitka, Alaska" just give me a call....The books are $20 plus tax. If you live out of town and want me to mail you a copy, you can mail a check for $25.60 to:

Fun, Food and Fellowship

I spend a lot of time alone working in the garden and Mr. Adams says I am starting to talk to myself too much, so every once in a while I make myself go out and work on my social skills....today was one of those days.  First was garage saling (which is a social event, don't let anybody kid you that it's not), and then.....a BABY Shower!!! Sitka Style!

Meet Dalton Turner....who can resist a new baby?!?!?!

And look at those itty-bitty shoes!

And here is his beautiful mommy, Meggan...

The shower was held at the Fly Fish Inn and the food was amazing...

And Check out this cake that one of the girls made....

After the shower I took our poor, bored dog for a walk and then headed to the next event....a fundraiser for medical expenses for Donna Donahoe, a friend of the whole community....

Everyone was there and I got the chance to visit with my good friend, Eve and her husband Fabian.....

We can never pass up the opportunity to chat about ducks, chickens, seeds and such!

All in all it was a busy but good day.  And now I am going to crash in my chair by the woodstove and crochet.....noone else is home so I can talk to myself all I want!
