THE U-Pick GARDEN will be closing August 20th. This will be the last year the garden will be open to the public. Next year I'll be operating as a CSA, supplying about 20 regular customers with weekly boxes. Thank you for your support over the last 8 years, but it's time to try something new.

Down To Earth U-Pick Garden is located at 2103 Sawmill Creek Road in Sitka, Alaska. It is open usually from mid-June through late August. Hours are Monday-Saturday 12:00 to 6:30. On Farmer's Market Saturdays I am not open until 2:00. Children are welcome but may not run through the garden or chase the ducks. It's The Little Things In Life

I'm starting to get back in the groove of things...hopefully my energy level will rise to meet the challenge ahead!

The weather turned out to be pretty nice, so I took advantage of the fact and took Lucy for a walk. My good friend, Diana, lives just down the road and I was blessed to have her join me!




Walking the dog is a drudgery for me, so it was wonderful to have a good friend to visit with while I walked...it made the time go SO much faster!

Once I got back home I worked a little bit outside.  The ducks LOVE it when I work outside! They follow me around to see what kind of good things get unearthed.




Although there aren't a lot of creepy crawlers around yet, I did find a couple of pathetic worms I was able to feed Pink-Pink....


Wow, she's fast!


And, the tomatoes are finally all transplanted....


All in all it was a good day!
