Levi Was Here!

Levi came home from college for Thanksgiving and it was so much fun to have him here....even though I was really getting into this whole "empty-nest" thing. Of course the first thing we had to do was measure how tall he was because it looked like he grew some more while he was gone.

He did! He's just shy of 6'4".

He really didn't want to venture out very much while he was home. For the most part he just wanted to mellow out at home and do homework.  The one thing he requested is that we make homemade icecream. Mr. Adams and I found our icecream maker in the back of the garage this past summer....we got it as a wedding gift, and though we used it quite a bit in the early days, it's been years since we've even touched it.

And while the icecream was "cooking" we simmered some fresh pineapple in butter and sugar until it made a nice caramel sauce......YUMMY!!!!

The butter in the sauce hardened when it was poured over the icecream and it was SO good!

Why does ice cream take SO long to "cook"!?!?!

So, fun was had by all, now he's back in Anchorage, and where it's very, very, cold, and the nest is empty again.  See you at Christmas Levi!
