Search And Rescue

One undeniable reality of living in Southeast Alaska is that it's harsh, unforgiving country. For most of us the wilderness starts right outside our back door.

It's altogether too common for someone to end up missing or injured just because they took a hike.  There's a very effective and active Search and Rescue team here in Sitka and we are all so grateful for what they do. Sadly, there is a boy missing right now....

It's heartbreaking to think of what his family is going through....I mean, what if it was one of my boys?

Mr. Adams has experience searching for people in the woods, so this morning he headed down to the Fire Department to volunteer his services.

Please pray for this boy, his family, and the Search and Rescue team tonight.....
