It's That Time Of Year

Seed starting time! Leeks, tomatoes and celery....

 But first....

What a mess!!! It took most of the day, but I finally got it into working order...

The day is over for now. But the pots are soaking in a bleach water solution, and tomorrow I will actually plant the seeds!

  1. If you start seedlings this early - how to you keep them from getting too spindly?

  2. After they germinate I reduce the temp in the room. I also rotate the trays a couple of times a day to get them to lean one way and then the other. Temp is the main thing

  3. I'm thinking of trying to grow Territorial's celery 'Redventure'...have you heard any feedback on this variety...good or bad?

  4. I have never grown it myself. A friend of mine here in town has - Eve Grutter. I don't think Florence Welsh grows it. I have the impression it has a stronger flavor and keeps into the winter better?
