It was healthy for so long, but this summer I saw some little tiny bugs in it. Since I wasn't going to eat any of it I bought some high powered fertilizer/insecticide and gave it a dose. The bugs disappeared and the ivy was doing so well that I decided to give it another dose....(okay, maybe a few more doses)...throughout the summer. That last dose did it in. I don't know if it can be saved.
Last year I set one in the corner of the sunroom after Christmas and ignored it all year (only watering it lightly a few times) and kept it alive until the next Thanksgiving only to have it get covered with aphids! This year I did the same thing and got lucky. I wonder if it will get bigger leaves and if they will turn red?....maybe some fertilizer/insecticide would help....after all, I'm not going to eat it, right?
