Today is the day we celebrate the fact that we bought Alaska from Russia for 7.2 million dollars in 1867. There are all sorts of activities in town that we don't attend, but we do always watch the parade. The kids loved to go because candy is thrown from most of the floats, but today it was just Mr. Adams and myself trying to catch candy....I guess this is something we need to get used to...an empty nest! The other thing we did today was pick up our new couch from the bargeline. We muscled it into the house....it was REALLY hard. By the time we were done EVERYTHING was moved out of the way...even the pictures on the wall! It was worth it though!
I knew this couch would look good under the quilt!
The weather has been awful, but work still needs to be done, so I endured the rain long enough to plant the garlic greens....
Garlic greens are just all the small misshapen garlic cloves that get planted close together. You harvest them in the Spring like a green onion. They look like a green onion but they taste like garlic. My neighbor said that they should be illegal...they're THAT delicious!
And just because someone requested it I am posting a photo of our wood cook stove...
