We didn't find anything great at the garage sales today....bummer! The weather was nice though. Actually saw the sun a couple of times! I can't believe how big these poppies got this year...they are bigger than my head!
These are Egyptian Walking Onions...
They are a perennial onion that multiplies at the bottom and the top. The onion bulbettes on the top get heavier and heavier and they eventually fall over and touch the ground and plant themselves, "walking" all over the garden. They are pretty cool.
On Thursday I had a couple of gift basket orders. I snapped a photo of them...they don't look great in the photo but in real life they were beautiful!
Today Suzan Brawnlyn stopped by to pick fennel and kohlrabi. Suzan does the cooking demos at the Farmer's Market. She makes the coolest stuff!
The kohlrabi here at the u-pick is beautiful this year! I was actually sad to see these go! I feel like I finally figured out how to do a good job growing them and look forward to having a better supply next year.
All in all it was a good day!
Those onions are SO cool! We don't really like onions at our house, but I feel like growing some of those just because!
