Under Control

Now that the mad rush to get "ready" is over I find that I feel more relaxed.  There is still plenty to do, but I feel like I have all summer to get it done.  Right now I am working on building chicken wire/2"x4"/rebar sides for the garlic greens bed.  It's time to harvest them but the sides of that bed are low enough that the ducks can get into it when it is uncovered.

I had a few customers today, even though it was gloomy and cool as usual.  The greens are doing great!

And the Egyptian Walking Onions are starting to put out tops...

There's a beautiful pink poppy that volunteers in my garden every year.  Often the seedlings come up in beds where I don't want them, so every year I dig them up and replant them into the spots where I want them to grow.  They always look pathetic when I transplant them, but once they recover they do so well, and they are so beautiful!  This is what they look like now...

And this is what they look like in bloom...

I have hundreds of them coming up in the garden!
