Well, I left Seattle in my rear view mirror today and headed to Ellensburg, Washington to visit my good friend Connie. I don't have access to a computer today to download my photos but maybe I will be able to pull it off tomorrow. Goodnight!

Fun Shopping
I spent the whole day checking out the building salvage stores of South Seattle today. It was so much fun! Here is a run down of my stops..
Second Use...
Besides, they had areas that looked like one those houses on the "Hoarders" show on tv.
Of course the vegetable and fish displays were fabulous too, but the flowers really just blew me away. I almost bought some for myself! How impractical!
While at the market I had lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe.....specifically for the creme brulee...
It was as delicious as I remembered!
Second Use...
I liked this place, but they didn't have anything I was looking for. They had lots of stuff, but most of it was pretty basic. No really cool stuff.
Earthwise Architectural Salvage....
I absolutely LOVED this place. They had more cool, unique things. I am buying a door from them for my sunroom.
It's on hold until I find an outfit to crate it up and get it to the barge. There is a big difference between stores in how they handle shipping. Some of them are so helpful and offer delivery to the barge line, and others are so clueless and just give you a helpless look. It would be great to have a pickup for this kind of shopping.
They also have an old farmstyle sink that I am interested in for an outside cleaning station for the garden. This one is enamel over cast iron and I would prefer a enamel over steel one. I don't suppose one of my farmer relatives has one stashed in their barn that they would give me?
Antique Mall Of West Seattle was not worth going to. They had antiques, but nothing that you wouldn't find at any Joe-Shmo antique store, and on this trip I am looking for the big and unusual.
Besides, they had areas that looked like one those houses on the "Hoarders" show on tv.
You've all probably been to this place just below Pike Street Market.
They have some cool stuff, but it's kind of boring. Is it possible for an antique store to be antiquated and out of date?
And then, because I was so close to the market I went through the alley to see the "wall of gum".....
That's right....gum!
And on to the market. The flowers were just amazing....people were walking around all over with huge bouquets that were being sold for $10-$15. I've never seen anything like it...they were just stunning!

Seattle Baby!
As I was flying out of Sitka last night I was thinking there shouldn't be much difference in climate between Sitka and Seattle. It's only 2 hours away. But it is different... A lot different! It was 90 degrees here today. I saw a blackberry bush growing up through a crack in the pavement. I get it now... There's heat here. It takes heat to grow fruit. We just don't have the heat. I flew over miles and miles of glaciated mountains. I don't know how anything can live down there.
I spent my first day in the big city shopping for a couch to go under that log cabin quilt I made this spring. I felt a little like Goldilocks.... This one is too plain, this one is too expensive, this one is perfect! It took most of the day but I finally picked one out but I chose a different fabric do it won't be delivered until next month.
I tried to use a photo off my phone to put on the blog but it didn't work. I think I need to download an app or something. I was impressed with this little gadget today.... I used it to find my way around quite a few times.

Farmer's Market Day
I love Farmer's Market days! It is very busy and hectic but it is also very fun.
Today I sold Blue Huckleberry Syrup...
And gave away another gift basket...
I am back home now and I'm packing my bags because I am getting out of town! I am going to Washington and Oregon to look for sun and antiques, pick blackberries and see a few friends and family! I'll take my camera and try to keep you updated on my travels....

Faster, Better, Stronger, Smarter
Well, the computer is back home and 5 times as roomy. NICE!
I spent the whole day working and didn't take a single photo! It has been raining and puddles showed up in the driveway where we spread the new gravel, so more raking and shoveling had to happen. Part of the problem was that a 20 foot strip of the original driveway was not canted properly along the edge, so.......Mr. Adams and I got out the pick ax and brought the level down about 6 inches. It was raining about the whole time! I was soaked by the time we were done and headed straight for the bathtub. Now I am out and I am checking out the new computer hard drive. It does seem faster and I know there is more room on it.
I had only one customer today, but he left happy so I am happy.
And to make sure you have photos to entertain you....

It Was A Pea Picking Sort Of Day
It was a very busy day....and quite sunny! I started off the day by biking into town to meet up with Mr. Adams for breakfast. French toast for me...Yummy! After that I picked some more berries at home and helped customers in the garden. There are starting to be a good supply of pea pods.
Here is a photo of my neighbor, Lyn. She bought a gift basket from me for her friend as a birthday gift.
Wasn't that nice?
