Today we finished unloading the boat and I ended up at the house early enough in the day to get some work done. Unfortunately it was raining AGAIN, so I worked in the sunroom. I am getting ready to plant seeds for a second planting of lettuce, spinach, cauliflower and kohlrabi.
I have a small aphid problem in the sunroom so I spent a good deal of time washing things down.
Even though the weather has been awful, things are still growing in the garden. This flower is called "Wild Phlox." I have them everywhere in the flowerbeds!
It's not actually a Phlox at all. I think it's called "Dame's Rocket" or "Sweet Rocket." It comes in white, light purple and bright purple. It's actually on our invasive species list because it spreads so easily but I LOVE it! It is beautiful, attracts pollinators, smells nice and loves our weather. If you don't like it in your bed it is easy to pull up, so I don't see a problem.
The chives are just about to bloom, the buds are just getting ready to burst!
I have a lot to do before I open on Monday. I sure hope I don't have to do it all in the rain!
Thanks for sending the sun south.
